Kerala piravi

Kerala Day is celebrated on November 1st to commemorate the foundation of the state of Kerala. It is also known as Kerala after the Malayalam word “Piravi” which means birth. Kerala Piravi therefore literally means the birth of Kerala. This day is observed to mark the date on which Malayalam speaking regions where unified into one state.

We, the Natural Science batch of 2022-24 of Mar Theophilus Training College celebrated Kerala Day in our classroom with the permission of our principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir and on behalf of our ma’am, our guider Mrs. Shyney Jacob. The programme started at 2pm with a prayer. Then a song related to Kerala piravi was sung by Devika M.S. After that, Sr Ranit Jose D M presented a speech about Kerala Day. With the touch of a classical dance on the song ‘Kera nirakalaadum’ a popular film song explaining the beauty of Kerala is done by Me.



A small exhibition was also organized with the involvement of all the seven student- teachers. A poster was created by Me, a bottle work by Sruthy Krishnan G, a model of Kerala using seeds of pista by Devika M S, chart drawing by Sr Ranit Jose DM, a small essay on Kerala day by Leeanda Lopez, Keralapiravi Quiz by Manjima. M. Kumar with the supervision of Aleena Reetha Kuriakose. We had launched poster related to the ‘Keralapiravi’. After the completion of all our programme, we had prepared a short video by connecting all our programmes. The programme ended at 2.20pm.We managed to do our best for making this event to a great success.
